Barastoc 2021 - Expressions of Interest
In the December Newsletter PA NSW sought feed back from the wider membership on the NSW decision to decline the invitation from the Warwick Polocrosse Club to attend Barastoc in April 2021. Thank you to the members who took the time to respond personally both in support of the decision, and against it.
The feedback received has assisted in reaching a resolution that resolves some of the issues the Board were facing in accepting the invitation.
- Attendance at Barastoc has been a long standing practice that is valued by some members.
- The Albury/Holbrook Club has assured us that the close scheduling to their event is not going to be an issue.
- COVID restrictions are easing across both NSW and QLD and it now appears that Public Health Orders restricting such activities will be less likely.
- Members have suggested and supported a 'user pays' system to finance the PANSW costs of sending teams to Barastoc. Selected players will be levied a fee of (this does not include any player fees, camping fees or gate charges that may be levied by Warwick Club) to fund the associated costs. This administration fee will not be refundable if the Barastoc event does not go ahead.
We would now like to call for Expressions of Interest to attend the Barastoc event on 15/18 April 2021. EOI will only be open for one week until Tuesday 26 January 2021 and can be submitted via the szapp. A link is provided below.
Please note the Barastoc Divisions, there are no sub juniors and no mixed teams.
