Here is your monthly update from the NSW Umpiring Committee: 

• Near miss incidents – the number of “near miss” incidents have been increasing as the season goes on, which is of concern. These are incidents where players and/or horses are injured to the point where they cannot continue a game due to the actions of their opponent. The committee will be monitoring the umpiring of these incidents closely and will be implementing the appropriate level of disciplinary actions where required, including suspension where appropriate, in an effort to reduce these instances and improve player/horse safety. 
• Score sheets – the committee would like to remind all umpires that it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that score sheets are completed in full before they are handed in following a game.
