The Zone Chief Umpires met again this month and would like to put out a reminder to all PANSW members playing this season.

Making contact in a dangerous manner, including crossing over the back of a horse, or stopping on the ball will result in a penalty, in conjunction with the rulebook, depending on the severity of the incident the following level of penalty may be awarded:

Penalty 2 : Free throw
Penalty 3 : Free throw at the goal
Penalty 4 : Free goal
Penalty 6 : 3 minutes on the side line
Penalty 7 : Sent off for the entirety of the match or tournament, which will result in a judicial hearing, where a decision of the number of weeks suspended will be made.

The Gold Coast Club has been asked to host the Australian World Cup Team in a test match at our upcoming carnival from 17-19 May.

We need your help in sourcing some quality horses for the pool. We currently have 10 that have very kindly been offered but are in need of six more.

The PAA will be insuring the horses for the weekend.

The horses will need to be at Killarney grounds on Thursday afternoon or very early Friday morning as the horse pool draw will take place at 9am Friday morning.

Overview

To provide New South Wales Polocrosse with the best opportunity to succeed at the 2026 Australian Polocrosse Nationals in Darwin the PANSW Board are calling for Expressions of Interest from members to form the Pathway to Darwin Committee.

This committee will be responsible for:

Working with PANSW Board and State Selection committees to establish the selection opportunities and timeline
Working with PANSW Board and State Coaching Committee to identify development opportunities for players and coaches
Working with the PANSW SEO to identify sponsorship opportunities for PANSW teams travelling to Darwin
Providing a cohesive and inclusive plan that considers all aspects of Nationals preparation (from selection to competition) that will guide PANSW from the conclusion of the 2024 Australian Polocrosse Nationals to the 2026 Australian Polocrosse Nationals

Requirements

Attend monthly meetings via Teams from July 2024 until July 2025
Be a registered member of PANSW
Be committed to working collaboratively with other committee members and groups to achieve the best outcomes for PANSW
