Unfortunately Christie Hunt has called off the High Performance Coaching due to lack of numbers.

Lack of numbers seems mainly due to seasonal conditions and a few people that applied were not qualified (Need a Level 1 for more then 2 years).

Christie will look to run it maybe later on in the year if the season turns around.

Nominations for PANSW President and 2 x Interested Directors closed on 6 January 2020. The following nominations have been received:

President: Arch Anderson, Andrew Rose

Interested Directors: Tracey Woodward

Insufficient nominations have been received to fill the 2 x Interested Directors positions. Accordingly, further nominations will be accepted from the floor of the AGM as per the PANSW Constitution.

"29.2 (d). If the number of nominations received for the Board is equal to the number of vacancies to be filled or if there are insufficient nominations received to fill all vacancies on the Board, then those nominated shall only be elected if they are elected by the Members by secret ballot in such usual and proper manner as the Chairman directs. If the nominees are not elected or if there are vacancies to be filled, further nominations shall be called for at the Annual General Meeting from the floor."

Any member who intends to nominate from the floor is requested to return an expression of interest to the SEO by 10 February 2020. These EOI will be shared with the Council for their consideration prior to the meeting.

Annual General Meeting of the PANSW will be held in Dubbo on the 22 February 2020 at the Cascade Motel, 147 Cobra Street Dubbo commencing at 10:00am.

Expressions of interest are also sought for the following positions:

State Grading Officer
State Draw Committee
Youth Development Officer
Horse Welfare Officer
Equipment Officer

Could current officials please advise the SEO if you are willing to stand/nominate again for your positions. Please note, Selectors and Coaching panels are for 2-year appointments to be in line with Nationals years.

As current Selectors were appointed at the 2019 AGM, they will remain as NSW Selectors until after the Ballarat Nationals, end of 2020 season.

State Squad Practice Weekend

The venue for the State Squad weekend is yet to be confirmed. It is planned to be a central location, the final venue will be dependent on the conditions of the grounds due to the dry weather conditions.

After the successful introduction of Blue Bandage Polocrosse in 2019 the last half yearly Council meeting moved to incorporate the division at all carnivals in the 2020 season. Going forward all NSW Clubs must advertise and promote the inclusion of Blue Bandage at their carnivals. The new initiative was responsible for introducing 167 new or returning players to our sport nationally in 2019.

The database now allows for BB players to be nominated by a club like pool players.

There is a new age limit for BB, players must be over 12 years of age.

The umpire for BB at every carnival must be an accredited minimum Level 1 coach.

PA NSW SEO Vicki Grant and Board Member Cathy Bennett held a polocrosse administrators workshop at the Yass High School on the 18 January 2019 which was evaluated as a success.

18 participants were involved in the workshop covering areas such as the database and what happens at the beginning of the year, carnivals, Blue Bandage, Paramedic Services for 2020, SZine and communication in the future.

With the help of the PA NSW Bookkeeper Belinda Cosgrove and some very experienced office bearers from local clubs, the exchange of information was very valuable for all involved. Thank you also goes to Fiona Wykes for organising the school.

PA NSW will be holding a similar workshop in the north of the state later in the year and it is hoped that we see another good roll out for this session.
